I found these beautiful, fleur de lis tiles in a plastic bin at a Belgian flea market - just sitting there, humbly wanting for me.  They had been salvaged from the rectory kitchen of the Cathedral in Ghent.  Earlier that week I’d been to Giverny to see Claude Monet’s iconic home.  Touring the interior (where you’re not supposed to take photographs) I fell in love with his kitchen.  And then I came upon these beauties.  So of course I just had to have them!

I’ve held onto them for 5 years, thinking I would remove the 19th century tile from around our fireplace and use these instead.  Alas, I now feel it’s time to stop hoarding them and share them with you.
