Illuminate your space with this lovely piece of vintage art. Depicts the famous Château de Valençay in Berry, France, which overlooks the majestic Nahon River.
The renowned 19th century writer, Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin (better known by the penname, George Sand), once stated of the château's landscape that "no king has owned a more picturesque park" and called the house, itself, "one of the most beautiful on earth." Owned by the prominent d'Estampes and Talleyrand-Périgord families, the château has long been walked by the great figures of French history, its roots dating to an ancient Gallo-Roman villa known as Valencia us, the domain of Valans. The current château was mostly built by the d'Estampes family with construction beginning in 1540. It was not completed until the 18th century.
