You can wear a piece of history. These extraordinarily beautiful blouses were standard fare for an educated woman working in the White House in the early 1900s.
These incredible Edwardian blouses and handmade laces belonged to the secretary of Roosevelt (Hoover, Truman, and others!), the very one who was asked to stay late the night Roosevelt was considering closing all the banks in 1930. When he made up his mind, he needed the orders typed up, but entrusted this job solely to one person, as no one could know about it prior to the announcement. She got the call. This maker of extraordinary laces. This women who, though she had no children of her own, raised one of her nieces, and opened her home to her many nieces and nephews, the priests of her diocese, and so many others. It was a home filled with energy and love. Which you can still feel today.
