Bring home a touch of history.  This understated platter bears a lovely Makers Mark, stamped with "Livesley Powell & Co.," a fascinating glimpse into its long life.  Antique.  Made in England.  Stunning aged patina.  That just-right item for entertaining your friends and loved ones.

A note on that history?  Livesley Powell & Co. was a china and earthenware business located at the Stafford Street Works and Church Works in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, England.  By this name, the company only existed between 1851 and 1866 when, Mr. Livesley having left the company and Mr. Bishop having joined, it was renamed Powell & Bishop.  Because of this, we know that, to bear this stamp, this striking platter was crafted between 1851 and 1866, making it -- at newest -- over one hundred and fifty years old.

Ironstone.  17"w x 13 3/4"d.
