Organic grow kits come with one pack of organic seeds, one portioned bag of organic soil, a garden stake, and a stylish urban grow container for your plant. For indoor plants, be sure to water them regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. To extend the harvest season, pinch off flowers as they appear.
Water your plant regularly. Basil thrives in moist soil, so check often and water deeply when the top inch goes dry. As you plant grows 4"-6" high, prune the topmost branches to promote more side shoots and a taller plant, overall. Pinch off blooms to prevent your plant from going to seed.
Be sure to water mint regularly to keep the soil evenly moist. To extend the harvest season pinch off flowers as they appear. For indoor mint, place plant where it will receive morning light, and away from drying heating elements.
Soak 4-6 seeds in water for 24 hours. Plant seed 1/2" deep and water gently. Place prepared grow kit on a saucer by a sunny window. Until the seed has sprouted, keep the soil moist. Seeds should sprout in 2-3 weeks. Keep the soil consistently moist through the growing season.
Water your plant regularly until it is fully grown so that it doesn't dry out. After the first year, be sure to leave a few stalks so that the plant can rejuvenate. Prune the heavier, woody stems every spring. One plant can be harvested up to three times in one season. Sage is best when fresh but can be stored frozen or dried.
