This table is a window onto an idyllic garden. This refinished side table, designed and executed by artist Grace Costantino, is painted in a crisp white that has been distressed to add character and visual interest. The tabletop features a digital reprint of a lovely vintage garden scene originally painted by artist Edward Julius Detmold and published within “News of Spring and Other Nature Studies” (1917). The print is sealed within a layer of epoxy resin to provide protection and a shimmering, glass-like finish alongside a fun twist...the resin was executed with a ripple effect that, when viewed in certain light, gives the appearance of looking out a rain-splattered window. The artist's intention was to replicate the charm of viewing a real cottage garden, rain or shine.
